Agricultural Industry Board

The Agriculture Industry Board (AIB) was established on November 21, 2006 by the Augusta County Board of Supervisors. The creation of the AIB was one of the recommendations made by the Agricultural Task Force. The Board consists of seven members, one from each magisterial district, appointed by the Board of Supervisors to a four (4) year term. The AIB’s meetings are held on the forth Tuesday of each month and are open to the public.

The mission of the Agriculture Industry Board is to identify major challenges facing the sustainability of agriculture in Augusta County and to support the development of programs aimed at strengthening the agricultural economy and preserving agriculture in Augusta County

The Agriculture Industry Board is responsible for identifying challenges to the agricultural economy of Augusta County and working with the Extension Service to initiate programs designed to improve the sustainability of agriculture in the County. In addition, the Agriculture Industry Board is responsible for recommending short term and long range courses of action to the Board of Supervisors.
