Augusta County Fire-Rescue is seeking an Administrative Specialist / Volunteer Liaison to support the operations of our volunteer fire and rescue agencies and assist with recruitment, financial programs, reporting, and communications.
This role is an important connection between Fire-Rescue leadership and volunteer agencies across Augusta County. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working with people while managing multiple administrative projects.
What You’ll Do
• Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteer fire and rescue agencies
• Assist with recruitment and retention initiatives for career and volunteer personnel
• Manage and update department social media platforms
• Coordinate and track volunteer financial programs, including allotments, fuel reimbursement, and loan programs
• Prepare and distribute monthly call reports and statistical data
• Maintain records and ensure compliance with county policies
• Assist with budget preparation, reporting, and surveys
• Process station access credentials for career and volunteer personnel
What We’re Looking For
• Associate degree in administrative sciences, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Strong organization, communication, and analytical skills
• Experience working with Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidential information
Experience in local government, budgeting, or volunteer organizations is preferred.
Work Environment
Primarily an office-based position with occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
