An application for a special use permit to allow a 125 megawatt-AC solar farm project, to be constructed in the South River District, has been filed with the County.  This project includes approximately 3000 acres of land between Stuarts Draft and Lyndhurst.  Construction would begin in the summer of 2019, and last for approximately 10 months.  The land would be leased for 35 years, with the option to extend the leases for an additional 5 years.

Solar Farm Listening Session

Additional listening sessions for the proposed 3200 acre, 125 mw Augusta solar project have been scheduled.  This will provide the public additional opportunities to view the application, see maps, consider the local impact, and ask questions.  These sessions are intended to be very informal.  Please feel free to drop by and learn about the project.  If anyone is unable to attend one of the scheduled times, but would like to learn more, please contact Carolyn Bragg, South River Supervisor, (540)337-4681.  All sessions will be held at the Stuarts Draft Library Station.
    Saturday, Oct 6 11am - 1pm
    Thursday, Oct 11 2pm - 4pm
    Monday, Oct 15 6pm - 8pm
    Tuesday, Oct 23 6pm - 8pm.
