SNAP Benefits-Replacement of Food Destroyed due to Power Outage

 

Households may request replacement for food purchased with SNAP Benefits (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program ) that was destroyed due to power outages that exceed eight hours.

 

The household must report the outage within 10 days of the loss and complete and sign a Food Replacement Request attesting to the lost.    

 

The household may receive replacement of the actual value of the loss not to exceed the benefit amount received for one month. Once the agency verifies the power outage, replacement benefits will be issued.
