New Board Members Gain Introduction though Orientation
New Board of Supervisors members Steve Morelli, Scott Seaton, and Jeff Slaven went through two days of orientation last week. They will take office on January 1, 2020.
New Board of Supervisors members Jeff Slaven (North River district), Steve Morelli (South River district), and Scott Seaton (Wayne district) spent two full days this week going through the orientation process. Matters both big and small, from business cards to budget and everything in between, were covered. The new members were given presentations by many of the department heads as an introduction to the function of the department and an overview of how the department might typically interact with the Board. The group also took an extensive tour of the General District Building and the 1901 County Courthouse in downtown Staunton to get them acquainted with the locations and challenges of the courthouse project as a whole. The new members will meet again in December to hear from additional departments will take office on January 1, 2020.
