Virginia Department of Social Services New Website, App for Resources

VDSS has launched a brand new COVID-19 Virginia Resources website and COVID VA mobile app (available for iOS users in the App Store ; Android/Google Play forthcoming). These platforms are a “one-stop” resource for individuals, families and businesses to access benefits, services and critical information, connecting essential needs - whether food, child care, healthcare, housing, unemployment insurance, or more - with an immediate resource.
Watershed Program Provides Funding to Improve Recreation Access on Local Rivers
Local Governments and/or community organizations may apply for funding to improve access to local rivers for recreation and/or fishing on reaches of South River, North Fork Shenandoah River, South Fork Shenandoah River, Main Stem Shenandoah River, or tributaries. Augusta County was awarded $100,000 each for two sites last year and design of river access points at Dooms Crossing and Crimora Park are currently underway. The deadline for proposals is October 1. Property owners who would like to consider use of their property to enhance or create recreation access on eligible waterways may contact the County, or your local non-profit watershed organization. Any individual or business is welcome to support online sales and donations of any size, a show of community strength in very difficult times for these young farmers who have worked so hard and finished strong, despite the difficult circumstances that COVID-19 created.
Project Grows Taking Orders for the North Augusta Farmers Market 
Make your online order (scroll to 'how it works') for curbside pick up on Wednesdays at the Government Center. ProjectGROW's mission is to improve the health of children and youth through food production, food access, and garden-based food education.
