The Augusta County Board of Supervisors will conduct a Public Hearing during the regular meeting at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in the Board Meeting Room, Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia, to consider amendments to Chapter 22 of the Code of the County of Augusta (“Augusta County Code”) as further described below:
Augusta County Code § 22-12 is amended to add definitions of terms “eligible person,” “dwelling,” and “real estate” that are consistent with state code. Amendments are made to subsection D to raise the maximum amount of total combined income to $55,000.00 and the maximum amount of net combined financial worth to $125,000.00.Subsection E is amended to extend the deadline to apply for the elderly and disabled persons exemption to April 19th in any year in which a general reassessment deadline is extended. Finally, schedules are amended to adjust to the new maximum amounts of total combined income and net combined financial worth.
