Thank you to those who have donated for the effort to aid areas that are impacted by flooding. Those items identified essential and immediate needs and have been air-lifted to places that were hardest hit.
This week, our attention turns toward meeting needs that are ongoing. These items will be sent via semi-truck. Please see the list below for suggested donations.
We can also accept cash or check donations. 100% will be spent on flood relief items. Checks may be made to: Augusta County Sheriff's Office; in the memo line, please note 'flood relief.'

Updated 10/4/24: List of needed items has been updated to include these priorities:
Premade formula in bottles, baby bottles, baby blankets, food in pop top cans, rice, Ramen noodles, gallons of distilled water, electrolytes, heavy duty gloves, shovels, batteries, flashlights, charcoal, bleach, adult and children OTC medications (Advil, Benadryl, etc.), bug spray/after bite spray, wound care medical supplies, iodine tablets, wipes, bread, peanut butter, jelly, paper products, and extension cords.
With temperatures predicted to drop in some areas on Monday, October 7, the following items would be appreciated:
Heavy duty blankets, sleeping bags, air activated hand and foot warmers, cold weather clothes for adults and children (thermals, thick socks, jackets, hats, gloves, fleece apparel).
Additionally, toxic water and mud have created a need for supplies of PPE equipment (suits, gloves, respirators).
Dear Community Members,
Our hearts go out to the victims of the recent floods in Southwest Virginia and North Carolina. In response, the Augusta County Team is organizing a collection of much-needed items to help those affected. We will be accepting donations at the Government Center in Verona and send to these areas in need.
Drop-off Location:
Government Center, Verona - Front Parking Lot (look for the Sheriff’s Office tents and semi-trailer)
Drop-off Times:
Anytime day or night, simply leave the items underneath the tents.
Time-sensitive – Items Needed for Air Shipment
We are fortunate to have several local pilots who have volunteered to fly supplies to North Carolina this Friday and Saturday, Oct 4-5.
For immediate assistance to go via air shipment, the following new items are needed:

- Food (individually wrapped)

- Lighters

- Paper Towels
- Plastic utensils
- Ready-made baby formula
