The Augusta County Board of Zoning Appeals will conduct Public Hearings at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2024, in the Board Meeting Room, Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia.  The board will consider the following requests:

• A request by Gary W. and Steve A. Kisamore, for a Special Use Permit to expand a non-conforming use in order to process lumber and to have outdoor storage of logs on property they own, located at 3156 Hankey Mountain Highway, Churchville in the Pastures District.

• A request by James W., Jr. and Carla F. Humphries, agents for JCH Properties, LLC, for a Special Use Permit to have weddings and special events and to have a food truck or trailer onsite during events on property owned by Sally A. Behm, located at 217 Stuarts Draft Highway, Staunton in the Riverheads District. 

• A request by Justin Showalter, agent for RX Fire Effects, LLC, for a Special Use Permit to have storage of commercial fire engines within an existing building owned by Daniel D. Roadcap and Sally L. Farabaugh, located at 674 Burketown Road, Weyers Cave in the North River District.

• A request by Antonio Mejia, for a Special Use Permit to have a landscape business with outdoor storage of commercial vehicles, mulch and rock and equipment storage within an existing building owned by Debbie Louise Keener, located at 32 Diggs Lane, Stuarts Draft in the South River District.

• A request by Ryan C. Knott, for a Special Use Permit to have a small engine repair business on property he owns, located at 55 Knott Hill Lane, Mount Solon in the North River District.

• A request by Zachary Dean, for a Special Use Permit to amend Operating Condition #2 of SUP#20-31 to increase the number of equipment for sale, amend Operating Condition #7 to increase the number of licensed tow trucks, trailers, and equipment and to add motor vehicle sales or auctions, and increase the size of the impoundment area on property he owns, located on the west side of East Side Highway (Route 340), approximately .204 miles north of Patterson Mill Road in the Middle River District.   

• A request by Benjamin Ramsey, agent for BCSA Properties, LLC, for a Special Use Permit to have outdoor recreational vehicle storage on property they own, located south of Stuarts Draft Highway (Route 340), east of the intersection of Lee Jackson Highway (Route 11) and Route 340 in the Riverheads District.

• A request by Carmen Beth Carlton Strickland, for a Special Use Permit to have a personal dog kennel on property she owns, located at 3002 Morris Mill Road, Staunton in the Pastures District.

• A request by Catherine A. Brown, for a Special Use Permit to have a personal dog kennel on property she owns, located at 3746 Old Greenville Road, Staunton in the Riverheads District.
