Update 2/19/2025: Due to the weather, the Verona solid waste site will remain closed through Friday, February 21, 2025, in order to complete the replacement of the compactor unit. The Verona waste site will reopen on Saturday, February 22.

The Verona solid waste site will be temporarily closed for several days to facilitate the replacement of its compactor unit. The Verona site will close on Tuesday, February 19, 2025, through Friday, February 21 and will reopen on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 7 am. All convenience sites, as well as the Augusta Regional Landfill, will remain open during normal operating hours on Monday, February 17 (for George Washington / Presidents' Day).
During the closure, residents are encouraged to use alternative waste sites:
- Mt. Sidney Site – 2556 Lee Highway, Mt. Sidney (6.5 miles away)
- New Hope Site – 456 Round Hill School Rd, New Hope (10.2 miles away)
