Public Hearings for Board of Zoning Appeals

The Augusta County Board of Zoning Appeals will conduct Public Hearings at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2025, in the Board Meeting Room, Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia.  The board will consider the following requests:

  • A request by Art Hugill, for a Special Use Permit to lease an existing farm building for storage of business vehicles and equipment in conjunction with a septic cleaning business and to have outdoor storage of porta-potties and an RV on property owned by Paul W. and Ginger Shifflett, located on the north side of Old Greenville Road (Route 613), east of the intersection of Old Greenville Road (Route 613) and Chestnut Ridge Road (Route 694) in the Riverheads District.

  • A request by Joshua Harvey and Charlotte Wagner, for a Special Use Permit to construct a kennel for boarding and training and to breed two (2) litters of puppies per year on property owned by Sean P. and Laura Beth Dawson, located at 368 Varner Road, Churchville in the North River District.

  • A request by Chadwick B. Bazzrea, for a Special Use Permit to have an excavating business with outdoor storage of commercial vehicles and equipment on property he owns, located at 107 C-BO-G Lane, Staunton in the Pastures District.

  • A request by Ray Eppard, agent for Victory Worship Center and World Outreach, for a Special Use Permit to have a day care center and preschool and outdoor storage of playground equipment on property owned by Victory Worship Center and World Outreach, located at 200 Hammond Lane, Staunton in the Beverley Manor District.

  • A request by David D’Arcy, agent for Bluestar Property Management, LLC, for a Special Use Permit to have four (4) apartments within a pre-1980 structure on property owned by Bluestar Property Management, LLC, located at 922 Cold Springs Road, Stuarts Draft in the Riverheads District.

  • A request by Christopher Scott, agent for Shenandoah Mountain Touring, LLC, for a Special Use Permit to continue to have a bicycle touring business, bicycle rental, training, mountain bike riding events, trail running events, and equestrian events and to be allowed to utilize a portion of the public highway for mountain bike riding events on property owned by Stokesville Owners Group, LLC, located at 464 Stokesville Road, Mount Solon in the North River District.

  • An Appeal of the Zoning Administrator’s decision that the operation of a rabbit rescue and adoption center with sales of rabbit supplies and merchandise in a Single Family Residential zoned area is prohibited on property owned by Mary Ellen Whitehouse, located at 11 Aero Drive, Waynesboro in the Wayne District.
