Augusta County Parks and Recreation invites you to Play All Day with a variety of activities scheduled at different parks throughout the day on Friday, June 20, 2025. It is part of a statewide initiative, Play All Day VA, to celebrate the longest day of play, the summer solstice, on June 20, 2025.
The Play All Day celebration highlights the importance of play and outdoor activities for all ages. Augusta County aims to foster community spirit and promote healthy, active lifestyles. Organized by the Virginia Recreation & Park Society (VRPS), Play All Day VA, promotes the importance of PLAY for all ages, abilities and interests through local parks and free or discounted recreational programming.
Schedule of Events
6 am: All parks open at dawn!
9 am: Fishing with Department of Wildlife Resources at the Trails at Mill Place
10am: Bingo for prizes at Deerfield Park
12pm: Stuarts Draft Pool Opens (standard admission fee applies)
2pm: Canoeing at Crimora Park with Vivid Earth Adventures
5pm: Visit a Park!
7pm: Southwest Dairy Mobile Classroom at the Government Center (hands-on activities combine learning and fun)
8pm: The Garfield Movie! (Government Center)
"Working with our partners to offer the variety of activities across Augusta County parks is an exciting expansion for us this year in our Play All Day VA celebration,” said Andy Wells, Director of Augusta County Parks and Recreation. "We are always looking for opportunities to bring the community together to recreate and maybe try something new!”

Want to earn a free pool pass? Complete four events on the Play All Day Schedule above, snap a photo at each event, and send them in along with your names for us to use on social media. You can post photos yourself and tag @augustacountyparksandrec and #augustarecva so we will see it! Pool passes will be available for pick up at the Parks and Recreation Offices in Verona the following week.
