Public Hearings for Planning Commission | November 18, 2025

The Augusta County Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing at 7 pm, Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in the Board Room, Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia.

The Augusta County Planning Commission will convene for a staff briefing at 5 pm, Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in the Board Conference Room.

The Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing at 7 pm, Tuesday, November 18, 2025, in the Board Meeting Room, Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia, to consider the following:

  1. A request to rezone from General Agriculture to Rural Residential approximately 9.40 acres (TMP 045D (3) 7A; TMP 045 60) owned by Charles and Carroll Weatherman and Herbert Kent McMath located off Shutterlee Mill Road in Staunton in the Pastures Magisterial District. The two (2) parcels are located in a Community Development Area of the Comprehensive Plan and are planned for Low Density Residential.

The Board of Supervisors will conduct a Public Hearing at 7 pm, Monday, November 24, 2025, in the Board Meeting Room, Augusta County Government Center to consider the request.

The Augusta County Community Development Department is responsible for reviewing and developing plans that reflect the County’s interest in the preservation of the environment, the provision of efficient public facilities and services, the provision of diverse housing opportunities, and the effective utilization of the area’s land resources.

Several key County functions operate under the Community Development Department, including planning, zoning, subdivision, engineering, building inspection, MS4, and street naming.  In its day to day operations, the Community Development Department works closely with the Commissioner of Revenue, the Parks and Recreation Department, the Augusta County Service Authority, and other county, state, and federal agencies.
