Public Hearings for Board of Zoning Appeals | January 8, 2026

The Augusta County Board of Zoning Appeals will conduct Public Hearings at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026, in the Board Meeting Room, Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia.

The Augusta County Board of Zoning Appeals will convene for a staff briefing at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026, in the Board of Supervisors Conference Room.  

The Augusta County Board of Zoning Appeals will conduct Public Hearings during their regular meeting at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026, in the Board Meeting Room, Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia.  The board will consider the following requests:

  • A request by Dustin Potter, for a Special Use Permit to lease a building for storage and have outdoor storage of commercial vehicles and equipment associated with a tree service business on property owned by Gratton Payne “G.P.” Fisher, III located at 1160 Lee Jackson Highway, Staunton in the Riverheads District.

  • A request by Joe Partington, agent for Waynesboro North 340 Property Owner, LLC, for a Special Use Permit to continue the campground as a short term campground and short term recreational vehicle park and an extended stay campground and extended stay recreational vehicle park on property they own located at 1125 East Side Highway, Waynesboro in the Middle River District.

  • A request by Dr. Julie A. Bullock, DVM, for a Special Use Permit to have a personal dog kennel on property she owns located at 1144 Lee Highway, Verona in the North River District.

  • A request by Janna Grapperhaus, for a Special Use Permit to have a midwifery birth cottage on property owned by JL Rentals, LLC located at 3375 Stuarts Draft Highway, Waynesboro in the South River District.

  • A request by Brian Manley, agent for Valley Contracting, LLC, for a Special Use Permit to have a construction/excavating and hauling business with outdoor storage of commercial vehicles and equipment on property owned by Crosby Farm, LLC located at 436 Hankey Mountain Highway, Churchville in the Pastures District.

  • A request by Mark Kincaid, for a Special Use Permit to continue to have motor vehicle and tractor repair in a larger structure on the property and to relocate the impoundment area on property he owns located at 1870 Calf Mountain Road, Waynesboro in the Wayne District.

The Augusta County Community Development Department is responsible for reviewing and developing plans that reflect the County’s interest in the preservation of the environment, the provision of efficient public facilities and services, the provision of diverse housing opportunities, and the effective utilization of the area’s land resources.

Several key County functions operate under the Community Development Department, including planning, zoning, subdivision, engineering, building inspection, MS4, and street naming.  In its day to day operations, the Community Development Department works closely with the Commissioner of Revenue, the Parks and Recreation Department, the Augusta County Service Authority, and other county, state, and federal agencies.
