You can recycle your live Christmas tree at our larger County convenience centers through Saturday, January 10, 2026. The participating convenience center sites are located in Churchville, Verona, Crimora, Sherando, and Mt. Sidney. The Regional Landfill will accept trees anytime during normal operating hours. The landfill is open from 8 a.m. until 4:15 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Please remove all ornaments and lights before recycling.
Recycled Christmas trees are used in various ways by the Fish and Wildlife Service, or similar organizations like the National Parks Service. Examples of use include helping to prevent erosion or create fish habitats. If they are not needed, trees are shredded for mulch. You can feel good about giving a new purpose to your tree after the holidays.
For hours and more information about the landfill, visit Water, Trash, and Recycling or the Augusta Regional Landfill website.
