Nonprofit arts organizations located in Augusta County and serving Augusta County residents are invited to apply for a matching grant opportunity offered by Augusta County and the Virginia Commission for the Arts. The application deadline is March 16, 2026. Eligible organizations must have 501(c)(3) status and demonstrate a commitment to enhancing arts activities within the local community.
Applications will be evaluated based on several criteria, including:
- Completeness of Application: A concise description of the organization's history, mission, and programming.
- Community Impact: The extent to which the organization or project broadens and enhances arts activities in Augusta County, including reaching diverse audiences.
- Clear Goals and Plans: Detailed budget, timeline, and implementation plans that are realistic and measurable.
- Community Need: Evidence that the organization fulfills a need within the community and demonstrates past community engagement.
Independent, ADA-compliant arts organizations are eligible to apply for programming and activities, particularly those that provide opportunities for underserved, under-resourced, and under-represented communities.
The total amount of grants awarded will not exceed $9,500.
