The Augusta County Planning Commission will convene for a staff briefing at 5 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in the Board Conference Room.
The Planning Commission will conduct a Public Hearing during their regular meeting at 7 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in the Board Meeting Room, Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia, to consider the following:
- AFD-26-0001 – A request to withdraw approximately 90.113 acres from the Middle River Agricultural and Forestal District. The property (TMP 037 92) is owned by Shiflett, Larry F. & Suzanne F. Shiflett, and is located at 1655 Knightly Mill Road. The parcel included in the request is zoned General Agriculture, and is located in an Agricultural Conservation Area of the Comprehensive Plan and has no associated Future Land Use designation. The purpose of the withdrawal is to allow for the construction of a ninety-five-foot (95’) monopole communications tower.
- REZ-26-0013 – A request to rezone from General Business to General Industrial with proffers approximately 6.06 acres of an approximately 17.20-acre parcel (TMP 027 122A) owned by Edgar E. Michael Rev. Trust. The property is located east of Lee Highway (Rte. 11), and bounded on the rear property line by railroad right-of-way (Buckingham Branch line). The parcel included in the request is located in an Urban Service Area of the Comprehensive Plan, and is planned for Medium Density Residential. The purpose of the request is to construct a manufacturing facility for storage sheds and agricultural buildings.
