The Augusta County Board of Supervisors will conduct Public Hearings during the regular meeting on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 7 p.m., in the Board Meeting Room, Augusta County Government Center, 18 Government Center Lane, Verona, Virginia, to consider the following:
- An ordinance to amend Chapter 22. Taxation. Article II. Real Property Tax. Section 22-15, Special assessments for agricultural, horticultural, or forest real estate as follows:
C. Amendment corrects that forms are provided by the Department of Taxation.
D. Amendment replaces prior application fee of twelve dollars ($12.00) plus twelve cents (12¢) per acre and annual revalidation fee of twelve dollars ($12.00) plus twelve cents (12¢) per acre every sixth (6th) year with an initial one-time application fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) plus one dollar ($1.00) per acre in excess of twenty acres.
F. Amendment changes interest rate from six percent (6%) to delinquent tax rate as prescribed in 22-3 of this chapter (or 10%).
G. Amendment strikes section G, penalty for failure to report change in use, in its entirety.
