Barking Dogs

On December 10, 2014, the Augusta County Board of Supervisors enacted an ordinance to add a section to the County Code to address unnecessary noises (barking dogs), to include the prolonged making of noise of various animals in Augusta County.  The ordinance became effective on January 1, 2015.

Section A, Paragraph 2 indicates that any citizen having sufficient evidence of violation contained in the ordinances may present evidence and make affidavit to the Augusta County Magistrate and request issuance of a summons or warrant against another person.  In order to do so, citizens should contact the Magistrate's Office.

Section 15-11 of the Augusta County Code indicates penalties and violations.  All fines are to be paid at the District Court Clerks Office located in the District Courts Building, 6 East Johnson Street, Staunton, VA  24401.
