Citizens interested in learning more about serving on a County Board or Commission, please contact the County Administrator’s office or your Magisterial District Supervisor.
Dear Prospective Board, Commission, or Committee Member:
The County of Augusta is sensitive to the need to involve persons from as many segments of society as possible in the policy making and administrative functions of local government. The County seeks to ensure that there will be opportunities for broad citizen participation in local government on the basis of merit and fitness as ascertained through fair and practical methods of recruitment and selection. Attached are three sheets seeking certain information about you. The first is a very practical questionnaire seeking information about you which we will require for our files. It includes such things as your name, address and phone number and other things we must know in order to facilitate your full participation in our county government. It also includes information which will assist us in evaluating the skills and experience you will bring to your position in county government.
The second sheet requests information needed to compile statistical data to enable us to effectively monitor our efforts to achieve the purposes mentioned at the beginning of this letter. Whether or not you give us this information is entirely a matter of your voluntary choice. If you do choose to supply this information, it will NOT be used in making decisions about your appointment and it will be kept only in a statistical file separate from the files of the board, commission or committee upon which you may serve.
The third sheet will provide us with information as to your specific Board, Commission, and Committee appointments you are interested in serving and order of preference.
Thank you for your interest in Augusta County.
