Pools Closed for the Season 

Pools will reopen on Saturday, May 23 at noon for the 2026 season.  The last operating date of the season will be Monday, September 7. 

Pool Amenities

Stuarts Draft Pool

The Junior Olympic size pool facility is located in a fenced area and has an enclosed bathhouse, small picnic shelter with tables, a separately fenced 'Tot Pool' area and more than a dozen lounge chairs.  The pool depth ranges from three feet up to five feet.

Natural Chimneys Pool

The Junior Olympic size pool has a spray water feature and the depth ranges from beach access up to five feet. The pool house features a changing area and restroom facilities for all users. Open swim for the general public and those camping at the campground within the park is offered during the posted operating hours at the established admission rates.

General Pool Admission Information

• Admission is $5/person. Children 3 and under are free. Anyone entering the pool facility is required to pay admission including non-swimmers.
• Admission can be purchased with VISA, MasterCard, Discover, cash or check.  At Natural Chimneys admission should be purchased at the Visitor Center. At Stuarts Draft admission should be purchased at the pool house.
• There are also 10 and 20 visit pool passes for sale starting May 1 at a discounted rate of $45 and $80. One punch will be used per person per visit to the pool including non-swimmers.
• Weather can be unpredictable. Please check the forecast before coming to the pool as no refunds or rain checks will be issued. 

Group Admission Information

If your organization is interested in arranging a group visit during open swim times, please email sfarris@co.augusta.va.us. Please note, there is limited availability for groups to use the pool during open swim times and those without a pre-arranged reservation will not be permitted entry.   

Private Pool Rentals

• Rentals are available most Saturdays and Sundays from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. between June 6 - August 9.
• At least two weeks' notice is required for all pool rentals.
• Rental fee is $200 for up to 50 individuals at Stuarts Draft Pool and 75 individuals at Natural Chimneys Pool (these totals include non-swimmers).

Swim Lessons

Group swim lessons are offered at Stuarts Draft Pool. Beginner lessons are offered for children 3 to 5 and 6 to 12 and Intermediate lessons are offered for children 6 to 12. Swim lesson online registration opens on April 20.
