Important Dates
Registration
Register to Vote/Update Registration deadline for the Primary: July 24, 2026
- Voter registration office at the Government Center - 5 p.m. Check additional state agencies for voter registration or DMV for their operating hours.
- By mail - postmarked by July 24, 2026
- Online portal on the Virginia Department of Elections website - 11:59 p.m.
Paper applications that are mailed must be postmarked by July 24, 2026.
Paper applications submitted in person at the Voter Registration office must be received by 5 p.m., July 24, 2026.
Early Voting
Early Voting location: South Board Room at the Government Center (18 Government Center Lane, Verona)
Early Voting starts: June 18, 2026
Early Voting continues: June 18 through July 31, 2026, Monday-Friday, 8 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 5 pm (closed from 1 pm to 2 pm). Early voting will be open two Sundays, July 19 and 26 from 11 am to 4 pm, and two Saturdays, July 25 and August 1 from 9 am to 5 pm.
Last Day for Early Voting: Saturday, August 1, 2026
Absentee Ballots
Last day to request a ballot by mail: July 24, 2026, 5 p.m.

Voters do not need a reason to vote absentee (by mail or in person).

Drop Boxes - Download Public Notice
You can also drop an absentee ballot sent to you by mail at one of our drop boxes at the Government Center. There are three (3) drop boxes at the Government Center:

In the voter registration office from 8am - 1pm, 2pm - 5pm, Monday thru Friday.

At the drive-through window 24/7.

In the south board room where early voting is located from 8am - 1pm, 2pm - 5pm. Monday thru Friday, and the two Sundays / Saturdays listed above.
Each precinct will have a drop box available from 6am - 7pm on Election Day.
