Mini Bus Driver/Trip Leader

Are you interested in leading trips throughout Augusta County and beyond? You could get paid (starting at $9.50/hour) to help us transport trip participants to their destinations while you enjoy the sites and experiences at the same time! This position provides off-site leadership for trip programs and acts as the group chaperone, providing aid where and when needed. The majority of the work will involve interaction with the senior population, so the qualified applicant must be able to establish effective working relationships with community, volunteers, general public and other staff. The work schedule will vary based on planned trips and outings but will include some weekday, weekend and evening hours.

2018-2019 C.A.R.E. (Children's Afterschool Recreational Experience) Staff

Do you enjoy spending time with children? Are you looking for part-time work? We are in need of Program Aides, Leaders and Directors to join our staff!  Staff are responsible for the supervision of elementary school aged children and the planning and implementation of specific activities and services for children. Come be part of a team that helps children develop physical skills, cooperation and develop interests in different types of leisure activities. Leaders and/or Aides are needed. Directors and Leaders must have past experience with children and educational background or training related to children, education and/or recreation. The beginning pay for Directors is $11 per hour, Leaders is $9.50 per hour and Aides is $8 per hour. Substitutes are also needed.  All persons hired must pass background checks. Campground Attendant

The County of Augusta is accepting applications for a Campground Attendant at Natural Chimneys Park with the Parks and Recreation Department.  This position will assist the Park Coordinator and Program Technician with Natural Chimneys Park’s daily operations and management.  There will be hospitality, sales, and clerical work involving park admissions, camping reservations, facility rentals and collection of any fees associated with each along with serving as an immediate point of contact for park visitors.  This position will also assist with critical custodial services in the Visitor Center.

This person will report to and communicate with the Natural Chimneys Park Coordinator on a daily basis regarding work projects, schedules, plans and/or needs. They must have the ability to follow oral and written directions and complete assigned tasks efficiently and timely.  The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, officials and the general public is necessary.  Applicants shall have a general knowledge of and familiarity with computers, MS Office software, and other office equipment.  Applicants must have a valid VA driver’s license and reliable transportation.

This position is a seasonal position (20-32 hours/week for up to 7 months) with no County benefits.  Starting wage is $9.50-$10.50/hour.  The weekly work schedule will include most Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  Candidate will have to go through a criminal background check and drug screening.  Applications may be obtained on the Human Resources page.  Applications must be received in the Human Resources Office.
